It’s that time of year when we start
to think about what we are going to wear on the nights when we get out of our
PJ’s and step away from jungle-related
viewing to actually go out. As in full-on Out Out. Not a casual evening.
Not a last minute throw-something-together kinda night. It’s more of an Oscars-level affair, with all of the
prep that goes with it.
We’ve been getting lots of inspo
recently as red carpets have been rolling out in the UK, too, and whether it
has been soap-related, or the Pride of
Britain Awards, we have seen some of our fave faces knock it out of the
style ball park. Remember the days when you used to see some real red carpet
howlers? They simply don’t happen anymore. We are all clued up when it comes to
chic. (Oh and by the way, we did manage to get some Giambattista Valli pieces last week but we do wish the member of Team Fake Bake who was late going
shopping and only managed to get some socks would get over it…..)
Back to business. Who have we been
loving? Well, of course, we are a little bit biased but when we have helped
some gorgeous people get ready with their pro Fake Bake spray tans, when they proudly show them off, dressed to
kill, then we give little rounds of applause. Whilst sat in our PJs, obvs.
Vicky Pattison swapped
her Masterchef whites for something
altogether more fabulous recently…
Our eternal fave Helen Flanagan braved getting her pins out, and we’d tackle the
cold if we looked this gorgeously molten…
Our Strictly shining star Saffron Barker wows as much on the carpet as
she does on the dancefloor….
However, when faced with seas of
dresses and racks of party pieces we decided we needed some help, and who
better to ask than Team Fake Bake’s own
Social Media specialist Roxanne Dragsnes? Here’s what she told us...
Roxanne, what are your top tips and trends for the party
season?
Everyone who knows me,
knows that I am all about sparkle and sequins in the party season! Every
Christmas I love seeing everyone’s glam outfits. I would say don’t be scared-go
for it! Fashion is all about showing off your individual style and feeling good
in what you wear. Go for that statement
piece this party season, like that maxi sparkle dress you’ve had your eye
on from ASOS and then keep the rest
of your outfit simple. Nude or clear
heels, nude bag and simple jewellery will make that statement piece pop. If
I want to look glam but don’t want to wear a dress then I would always go for a
sequin trouser with a blouse or t-shirt
and leather jacket to style it down.
How do you put together your own looks?
I still love a magazine and will look to them
for inspiration. Instagram is a huge
platform I use for fashion inspo. I love following celebrities and influencers
for style tips. I adore when an influencer does a styling video as this is
great for tips! I visualise what an outfit would look like on me before I buy
it. I did fashion styling when I was younger and I know what works on me and
what to avoid! I absolutely love Trinny
from This Morning as she loves sequins even more than I do, so I look to
her for fashion inspiration. I am loving the X Factor Celebrity at the minute and of course Megan McKenna is style GOALS, I love how she styles an outfit to
suit her and how she puts her own ideas to the outfit. The gold suit she wore
recently is a gorgeous alternative to a dress - and the shoes are to-die-for! I
am really enjoying her new pare-down sense of style. She has never looked
better!
Who are your fave hair and beauty influencers, to complete
the look?
For hair, I follow Carl Bembridge as I love the different
styles he does and you never know what he will do next with hairstyles. He does
a lot of celebrities and influencers which I love! Carl works with a lot of the
famous names that Fake Bake work with, too! This recent look on Samantha Faiers is perfect for party
season.
I adore Huda Beauty as her make-up tips look
amazing and are easy to follow. I always like a simple bronzed makeup look that
is easy to achieve at home. She really has changed the beauty game and I admire
the way she includes her fans in her work. This is the kind of classic Huda look that I go for!
How do you get your flawless tan?
I don’t like to go a
day without wearing Fake Bake! I
keep my tan looking good by following Fake
Bake tips which are:
1) I use Fake
Bake Tan Corrector & Eraser to remove all of my previous tan so that my skin is clean
and ready for a new tan application!
2) I then use my fave Fake Bake DoubleShot Espresso as I like a dark tan and if you are
like me you will love this one! It is currently available as part of our Fake Bake X Spectrum Go With The Glow Gift
Set so I am hoping to find a few under my tree! It is such an easy tan to
apply.
3) Then I moisturise with Fake Bake Coconut Moisturiser to ensure my tan lasts as long as
possible and fades evenly. Fake Bake are
famous for having beautiful formulas that do just this - not a patch in sight!
4) For special occasions I will always opt for
a professional Fake Bake spray tan.
Being based at our HQ I am lucky we
have so many trained staff around so I can let them loose with their spray gun
if it’s for an event where I am representing the brand.
So that’s us style
educated, although we have to say, as we work with Rox, that her idea of
dressing down and ours isn’t quite the same. However, having someone in the
office who knows how to wow does make us up our style game when we need to. Now
all we need to do is go shopping. Again.
We need to be prepared
though and that means being fit, healthy, and ready for action. The fruit in
our mince pies surely counts as part of our fave a day, doesn’t it?
Sorted.
