FAKE BAKE on a style tip at the British Fashion Awards

Here at Team Fake Bake, we got super excited when we received some calls asking us to help some stylish names get ready for the British Fashion Awards at London’s Royal Albert Hall. And it certainly included the great and the good from every style generation. Giorgio Armani, now 84, was there to accept his Lifetime Achievement Award, accompanied by Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett, no less.

Aside the huge names like Donatella Versace and Christopher Kane, who won the Designers’ Designer Award, up-and-coming  Daniel Lee, who last year took over at Bottega Veneta, won four awards. Music is never far from fashion and Janet Jackson rubbed shoulders with local rapper Little Simz, as every table rocked and no doubt compiled their own Best Dressed lists.

Who topped ours?

Jourdan Dunn has always been a favourite at Team Fake Bake and once more she ruled the red carpet…

Elsa Hosk took a brave stance and we are completely in awe of her angelic golden tan…

Our stateside style sister Olivia Culpo looked elegant in Ralph and Russo

Adut Akech took home the Model of the Year Award, and shows us why in Valentino

Naomi Campbell received a Lifetime Award and her status as Style Icon shines through in Alexander McQueen

Amber Valetta showed us how to do timeless chic in Stella McCartney

Our favourite hair and beauty look has to go to Julia Roberts, who showed how to rock an Armani jumpsuit in Hollywood style. Soft waves, a coral lip, a subtle glow and turquoise earrings? Go on then…

As always, our Fake Bake tanners were on hand to get their own stylish gang ready and this year outshone other teams by proving a Fake Bake pro tan literally looks good on everyone.

Our Global Creative Consultant James Harknett worked his magic on Sarah Jossel, Beauty Director at the Sunday Times Style magazine - our fave #BeautyBoss

And also on David Gandy, fashion legend and Best Dressed Man at the Awards. In our humble opinions…

Our amazing The Tan Expert, Eloise, created this gorgeous tanning look on super-blogger Danielle Vanier

And Nadine Sereaton created this bespoke tanning look on model Alice Amelia Jeffrey, who caught the lens of every photographer on the carpet…

We caught up with Nadine to ask her about the event and why it is always a good idea to opt for a professional Fake Bake spray tan when the occasion is this special. Nadine told us:

“Helping get Alice Ameila ready for this event was so exciting. I work with her on a regular basis and she is an absolute sweetheart. Her career is really, really taking off and so it was wonderful the next day to catch all of her red carpet shots alongside the very best names in the fashion industry.

Why go for a Fake Bake professional tan? I really pride myself in terms of the work I do so that every client who comes to me for a pro tan gets the same level of service. At the moment I am tanning people for all sorts of occasions from day to evening events, and a pro tan takes some of the work out of your beauty prep.

Even the most seasoned tanners enjoy a professional tan as we aim to create a perfect, flawless finish whilst opting for a shade that really suits your skin tone. There is no need to worry about streaking or patchiness if you are a tanning newbie, and it really does save time. The results are long lasting, too, which my clients really appreciate when they have more than one event or party to attend.

Finally, I have noticed that a Fake Bake pro tan really lifts the spirits of each of my clients: during these colder, winter days, a seamless tan really gives you confidence and makes dressing for an occasion a real pleasure. For me, it is lovely to be a part of that experience.”

We are pretty certain no-one here on the team will make it to the British Fashion Awards as a nominee any time soon, but we are definitely upping our style game for the office party.

It doesn’t matter where you go in the world, at the end of the night you always end up like Naomi and Adut.

Isn’t that what Christmas is all about? Love, actually....
