Come on, admit it. When
this series of Love Island started you were all discussing why it wasn’t
as good as previous years. We’re going to say it. We still (still!) miss Hanna
and Jon, and no one, ever, in the history of entrances, will ever
have the same effect as Muggy Mike. But nearly 4 million people
can’t be wrong, but because that is how many of us are tuning in, every night.
We are loving the dramas, the tans, the swimwear, the dramas, the hairstyles,
the drama and of course, the person who has overtaken Adam as this
year’s focus of most group chats: Megan.
So we thought we needed
a quick half-term report to talk about our fave sayings so far, our best
dramatic moments and the couples in the frame for the big win.
Fave Sayings (just
three of many)
I’m Loyal - oh hang on, are you? This is Georgia’s most
used saying and has been doing the rounds since the start. Is anyone actually
loyal? Only time will tell….
I’m Being True To
Myself - this is usually
delivered after someone has jumped ship and needs everyone to still like them
after dumping someone the whole group loves usually for someone the whole group
doesn’t. Oops.
I’m Just Going On a
Date, Babe - this is
usually delivered within a couple when one of them then does, in fact, go on a
date, and flirts outrageously and then forgets the person they are coupled up
with.
Our Best Bits So Far
(too many to mention)
Jack’s Pretty Much
Everything - from that
canvas of Danny Dyer above his bed, to his world class performance as
fifteen stone of South London Beef, to his impressions, there is nothing we
don’t love about this geezer and he’s a real lesson about not being bothered
about a six pack and just being a lovely boy. And we’ve even fallen for his
teeth.
Kiss Gate - ah Georgia. A kiss on a reality show
has been discussed all over the media. It was even covered in the Radio Times,
which our grandmas read. They’ve been playing it on every angle using VAR, and
we still think Georgia is not really telling it as it is. We still love
her though. We are with Dani on that one. And we can’t wait for Laura
to see it.
Wes Fights Back - now we did learn a lesson from the boys
here. After Casa Amor, when a girl gets dumped they tend to talk to their mates
and have a good moan. Wes didn’t. He played it clever, and kept it cool.
And when the time came, he stole his girl back in a timely fashion. An absolute
masterclass in self belief. Oh, and he knows his away around parmesan.
Hayley’s Hayleisms -
she is absolutely the one
character we miss, along with Adam. Yes, we miss Adam. We’re not
apologising, we grew to love him. As did most of the girls in there. But we do
miss Hayley and the fact that she turned up to do the show, but didn’t really
want to do the show. From her views on Brexit, to Eyal’s spirituality
and Charlie’s eyebrows, her surprise that the show is, in fact a game,
was brilliant. Oh, and we miss Eyal as well.
The Doctor Will See
You Now - it’s not been a
romantic summer for our Alex but he has well overtaken last year’s
Marcel in terms of giving out advice and just being a shoulder to cry on for
everyone in there. But we have a suspicion that they really need to send in a
LI version of Kate Middelton to really find him love.
Dani’s Lashes - the beauty moment of the summer. Blow
drying your lashes with a hairdryer and a teeny-tiny brush. And clearly, braids
are big news. Braids all the way, girls.
The Runners and
Riders (at the moment)
Jack and Dani - solid since the beginning, these two have
only had a few little hurdles to get over and if they don’t win there will be a
mutiny. And clearly, we want to see a big wedding with all of the cast of The
Business there to cheer them on.
Wes and Megan - we know Megan has taken on a sort of
panto villain role but the show wouldn’t have been the same without her. And we
do actually think that these two may actually be Coming Home. This will be our
only reference to anything Coming Home this week. You get the picture.
Josh and Kaz - Josh has just been saved, so we are not
sure if these two can win us all round, but give them a bit of time.
So that’s our half term
report so far. We are always posting about the show on our Social Media
channels so feel free to join in….
