FAKE BAKE goes to the NTA’s - tanning and drama, the perfect night out…

Sometimes as a brand, we work with certain companies or at events and have a ball. We are really enjoying our Dancing On Ice stint at the moment, and we love the team at ITV so much, we were more than happy to be the Official Tanning Partner at the National Television Awards for yet another year and, as a little reward to some of our fave celebs and hard working Team Fake Bake members, we also got to party stage side once everyone was ready to tan and roll.

What is it about these awards that gets everyone talking? They have been going a long time now, and are getting more competitive as each year passes, and ITV do tend to bring home a lot of the prizes. How can anyone in category with I’m A Celebrity or The Chase hold out hopes of winning? There are always exceptions, though, and Strictly Come Dancing is hard to beat, and it was great to see Danny Dyer win for his role in Eastenders. He really is the guv’nor.

We spotted so many Fake Bake tans on the red carpet and friends of the brand that it became impossible to count. Jess Wright and Gemma Collins looked super glam, as always, and of course, it always feels like the real drama gets saved for the main event: the after parties! But for Team Fake Bake there was a massive task to carry out first: to get from Glasgow to London, in record time, and get everyone ready before they could even think about posing for the cameras.

Our Fake Bake leading ladies Victoria and Emily headed up the team, and these two are more than used to VIP tanning by now - and they still kept everyone in good spirits, quelling nerves alongside our fave hair and beauty experts, to make sure everyone was red carpet ready in just a few hours. And we have to say, we are pretty proud of their work, because everyone looked stunning by the time they got papped!

Our fabulous Victoria looked glam and glowing herself by the time she got to clink glasses with Josie Gibson, who we managed to prize away from her beautiful new son, Reggie James, for one night only…

Love Island’s Ellie looked super-glam and major league hot. Our team used loads of our finishing products to get that lovely skin sheen. In January, you have to, it’s as simple as that…..

Our gorgeous friend, Helen Flanagan, looked so elegant and chic in her draped dress, updo and dazzling jewellery. She’s all grown up now, and she suits it well….

What can we say about Lydia Rose Bright? Our own Essex Carrie Bradshaw, she always goes fashion forward and this year went really bold with this gorge, backless dress. As always, her undone hair and accessories were spot on. And that flawless back proves that sometimes, it really is best to let a Fake Bake pro loose with a spray gun…

Megan McKenna is never far from the headlines and we cannot wait to see her on Celebs Go Dating. She’s such an in demand girl right now with her music career, too, and BTS she’s an absolute sweetheart. In front of the cameras? An absolute dream and her Fake Bake tan is seamless…

Love Island’s Alexandra looked like a Hollywood movie star - we couldn’t believe how absolutely beautiful she is in real life, and a dream to tan…

We met Jake Quickenden properly on DOI last year, and it was love at first sight. Jake went for a Fake Bake Darker spray tan and top-to-toe tailoring. What an absolute sort…

We love working with Love Island’s Laura Anderson as, obviously, being from the same part of the world, we are so proud of her success. She looked an absolute knockout, as always, and is always our type on paper, or on the red carpet…

Once the ceremony was underway, we settled in our stage-side box and really enjoyed the sights and sounds of the show, Westlife being a highlight for the girls. Everyone enjoyed their Fake Bake goodies and it was wonderful to relax and catch up with some of our fave stars.

Power couple Josh Cuthbert and Chloe Lloyd both opted for chic black and gave us all a lesson in class dressing. Every style detail was on point. Swoon, literally.

Every year, the media is filled with NTA After Show stories and they are never happy until there has been an argument or at least a bit of snarling going on. It must have been going on somewhere else, because we had a drama-free time, but let’s just say, we were feeling it the next morning. One of our best clients, Charlotte Dawson, even managed to look chuffing gorgeous the next morning. Well, lucky for Charlotte it’s her job to look this stunning the morning after and not Team Fake Bake’s….

We had an amazing night and it is a real reward for some of our team to see their efforts take centre stage. It makes all of that hard work worth it. Will we be back next year? Try stopping us. And we managed to get through a whole post there without mentioning Holly Willoughby’s dress. (It was fabulous, BTW!)

And while we love hanging out with some really lovely people, who also happen to be famous, it also reminds us of why we like being civilians. We get to mix with the real influencers, movers and shakers, and on a freezing cold night, we don’t need to walk a red carpet for a couple of hours.

And even when we did nip out for a look, we didn’t bother taking our coats. We might not be famous but we are from Glasgow. You don’t think a cold night in January scares us, do you?

Good.
